On Wednesday (27 of June) guests arrived to our euroregion from the Varmland Grensekomiteen-Østfold Norwagian-Swedish cross-border cooperation. Gábor Duka, mayor of Karva (Kravany nad Dunajom) welcomed the delegation in his village and introduced the improvements of the settlement, among them the port constructed with the financial support of the Hungary – Slovakia Cross-border Co-operation Programme. Éva Tétényi, co-chair and Ján Oravec, executive chair of the EGTC greeted the guests in the town hall of Párkány (Štúrovo).
Then Peter Nagy, the director of the EGTC spoke about how the co-operation started, about the establishment of the EGTC founded as second in Europe, about its organizational structure, about development plans and about everyday life of the cross-border co-operation.
After the official programme the guests visited the Basilica, the castle hill and they had a short walk in the Vadas Thermal Bath on the initiative of Mr. Oravec. After the dinner in Muzsla (Mužla) they had a wine tasting of the excellent wines of the Ister-Granum wine region.
