Zsitvay Lookout - Ister-Granum

Zsitvay Lookout

Visegrád

The Zsitvay Lookout was built in 1933 on the top of the 378-metre-high Great Hill, and was declared a monument in 2005. It was named after Tibor Zsitvay, one of the most prominent figures of the last century (Minister of Justice, President of the Hungarian Tourist Association). The lookout and the area of Nagyvillám is an important centre of excursion and tourist life. On a clear day you can see the capital and its 100 km surroundings, from Mátra to Pilis and the Zsámbék basin. The Danube Bend is visible with the naked eye even in cloudy weather. The direction of the clearly identifiable sights is indicated by diagrams and signs on the viewing platform.
