The Kós Károly Lookout is one of the most popular attractions in Zebegény, attracting thousands of visitors every year. It is an excellent destination for visitors of all ages, as it does not require much effort to visit, yet the panoramic view is an unforgettable experience. The Kós Károly Lookout dates back almost a century, with work on the Kopasz Hill starting in the 1930s. At that time, however, there was no talk of building a lookout, as the Dalkör, a choir of Zebegény residents, decided to erect a national flag and a monument to the hero on Kopasz Hill, where the calvary is located. The design was entrusted to architect and sculptor Géza Maróti. The Second World War interrupted the work, the construction of the monument was stopped and it was questionable whether it would ever be completed, as most of the similar monuments were destroyed during the war. The Zebegény memorial was finally saved thanks to the Zebegény councillors, who had it reclassified as a lookout, so that it could be preserved on Kopasz Hill. The predecessor of the Kós Károly Lookout stood on the site of the monument until 2014, when a new structure was proposed and built on a more remote spot on Kálvária Hill.
