Zalaba

The church of Zalaba was built in 1789, and a tower was added in 1845. Concerts, festivals, poetry festivals, anniversaries, national holidays and much more take place in the village, and the church is the centre of cultural life, with the congregation taking part in everything. The pews were made by the famous village resident, the writer-carpenter Vilmos Csontos. Generally speaking, the entrances to the churches all face west, but interestingly, the one in Zalaba faces east.
