Malé Ludince (Kisölved)

This quiet little village lies between the rivers Garam and Ipoly, on the banks of the Szikince stream. Surrounded by rolling hills, wooded lanes and well-kept fields, this small village has a long tradition of fruit and grape growing. In the vineyards, neat cellars produce wines of the finest quality and are happy to serve them to the passing traveller. The village was depopulated during the heavy fighting along the Garam during the Second World War, but after the end of the war the close-knit community returned to its home. The Reformed congregation is still active today, both in preserving traditions and in encouraging young people. Their church and the adjacent square are the scene of village events. Kisölved is also an organizing participant of the Szikince Festival, a well-known event of the small region.
