Farná (Farnad) - Ister-Granum

Farná (Farnad)

Farná (Farnad)

Located on the slopes of the Garammenti hills, the area around the village is mostly agricultural land and to a lesser extent forested. Grape-growing is well known and recognised in the area, and the farmers produce excellent wines. The wine cellars are often occupied by the winegrowers themselves. The vineyards and their charming cellars are well worth a visit. The village traditionally has a good mix of Catholic, Reformed and Evangelical churches, all three with beautiful churches. Cultivating traditions is important for the village. The village museum gives a taste of the village’s past life, the everyday life of the people who lived there in the past, and their customs. There is an active musical life in Farnad, with successful folk dance groups, singing choirs and a popular music band. The events of the Nádas Cultural Club and its member organisations are well worth a visit for their high-quality traditional programmes.
