The Reimann Mining Historical Universe is located in the centre of Dorog, in an authentic setting, next to the Dorogi Altar (former Reimann Altar), a protected monument. Visitors can start their tour on the first floor of the two-storey building by viewing mood images and archive footage projected onto the wall surfaces. A 1:2666 scale map of Dorog and its surroundings, accompanied by a time-lapse animation showing public buildings and industrial facilities in Dorog, including mining, will help visitors to get to know the landscape and geography of Dorog and its region. At the spatial centre of the universe, visitors can experience a descent into the depths with the help of the symbolic cairn. On the ground floor, VR glasses will give visitors an insight into the art of mining, with 360-degree footage of the different mining methods and the difficulties of working underground, shot in real-life locations. The main attraction of the miners’ universe is the 3D printers’ custom-made scale models. The models, which incorporate interactive and multimedia elements, are a stage set for the historical and chronological development of mining.
