The 400-year-old former Turkish house of prayer, the Ujizhel Hajj Ibrahim Jam is now a museum. The building dates from one of the most turbulent periods of the city of Esztergom, and is the furthest surviving and restored mosque north-west of the centre of the former Turkish Empire. The museum aims to show visitors not only the interesting building, but also the Turkish history of Esztergom for young and old alike. The former prayer hall now houses temporary exhibitions on a wide variety of subjects. In addition, regular scientific and artistic lectures are held in the building, which has wonderful acoustics and is located in the northern part of the Water Town.
