The old Roman Catholic Church of the Ascension of Christ was built in the 13th century in Romanesque style. Damaged several times, it was repaired, restored in 1737 and given a new vault. It stood until 1811, when it was gradually dismantled for building material. Some of the building material was probably used in the construction of the new church. The Roman Catholic Church of the Ascension of Christ was built in 1811 in the neoclassical style. It has a single nave with a slightly narrowed sanctuary, a wavy-walled parapet and a turreted tower in front of the nave façade. The new church was heavily damaged in the fighting at the end of 1944, but was repaired. In the summer of 2020, the excavation of the old medieval church of Letkesi took place on the Korongi bank, at the junction of Rákóczi Street and Fõ Street. The excavation was led by the Institute of Archaeology of Eötvös Loránd University, with the participation of Hungarian and Slovakian students and experts. The excavated remains were reburied after photographing and drawing. The results of the excavation were presented by the archaeologists and their colleagues in Letkés in spring 2021. From 2021 onwards, a small exhibition in the community centre will present the new information obtained during the research and the history of the settlement.
