There has been a ferry crossing between Kravany nad Dunajom and Lábatlan (at that time still Piszke) since the 13th century. This was continuous until 1945, when retreating German troops blew up the ferry port in the last fighting. The need to rebuild the harbours continued, and the two new border harbours were finally opened in 2013. The ferry crossing starts every year on 1 April and transports pedestrians and cyclists until 15 November.
