Village Museum of Moèa

Moca (Dunamocs)

The Village Museum of Moèa has a significant ethnographic and local history collection, with interactive programmes on request. The building offers a rich and colourful world of old peasant culture. Looking at the material and spiritual products of our folk culture reveals a world where people lived in a true community spirit, close to each other, in close human contact, helping each other, appreciating each other, relying on each other. Walking through each room, we get a taste of our ancestors’ farming methods and customs, and last but not least, we can trace the history of the development of our village, the struggle of the villagers to survive. The exhibition is divided into four thematic units: population and settlement history, village personalities, ship mills and water millers, serfdom.
