Shrine of Cigléd/pilgrimage site

Strekov (Kürt)

A famous place of pilgrimage in the village of Strkov is Cigléd, at the foot of Mount Góré. In the past, this place was the home of the Pauline hermits who lived in caves dug into the ground. The location of the caves is preserved in a wooden cross under Mount Góré. Folklore tells many tales about the history of the white friends and the shrine of Cigléd. At the bottom of the hill, there is a small chapel dedicated to the Holy Virgin of All Help, at the foot of which a spring of clear water awaits pilgrims. Stations of the cross lead to the large chapel on the hill. The large chapel was rebuilt around 1910. The altarpiece shows the Virgin Mary with the child Jesus. The shrine has 2 celebrations on the feast of the Assumption and Pentecost.
