Not far north of Párkány, not far from Garam, lies a village with an active traditional life. It is mentioned as an independent settlement as early as the 12th century. Its extensive territory extends from the Garam to the north-eastern slopes of the Dunament hills. In the latter area, in a part called “Hegyfarok”, which is protected because of its drought-loving vegetation, are the cellar rows of the village, where it is worth taking a long walk. Next to the Garam is the Holtág lake, surrounded by wooded areas and protected for its special flora and fauna. In the centre of the village, a beautiful park invites you for a walk, with several elaborate monuments. Next to the Roman Catholic church stands the former manor house, which is not open to the public. There are active local traditional associations that organise events.
