Bruty (Bart)

Bart is located in the Danube lowlands, on the right bank of the Garam river, bordered by the Barti and Sári brooks. Among its architectural works, the most outstanding are its beautiful, large, renovated church, its cave of Lourdes with a statue of the Virgin Mary, and the wooden Szekler gate forming the entrance to the cemetery. Bart is also one of the six villages where the kurta skirt tradition is preserved, and there is hardly a house in the village that does not treasure this treasure. Legend has it that it was the Turkish pasha who obliged the girls to wear skirts one arash shorter so that he could see their knees. The women were ingenious, however, and even though the skirt was shorter at the bottom, they started wearing it with the same aras lower on their hips so that their knees were still hidden. A forest path (also) leads to the fisherman’s paradise, Bart’s two fish ponds (Fish Pond and “Stone Bridge”), which provide a quiet, peaceful setting for relaxation.
