The Marshes of Kamenín, locally known as the Salts of Kamenín, are located between Kamenný Most and Kamenín. The area is a habitat for special plant and animal species due to the particularly saline (high salt content) soil. The Kamenéménd salt marshes are unique not only in Hungary but also in Europe. For this reason, since 2004, the Marshes of Kamenín have been included in the European Natura 2000 network of Special Areas of Conservation as a Site of Community Importance (SAC), covering an area of 119,44 ha
