A green triangle trail of just 1.3 km and 166 metres of ascent leads up to the legendary Guard-mountain between Bajna and Epöl, which, despite its shortness, is still full of experiences. Although the cave has certainly seen a lot in its millions of years of history, it is named after the Old Mountain, the Siamese brother of the Sentinel Mountain. Part of the cave’s huge entrance is blocked by large boulders, but there is still plenty of room to get in. A wide and gently sloping corridor leads down to the bottom of the tunnel, where you can lean down in places and observe horns and so-called spherules, thanks to the work of the water. At the bottom of the passage there are also two larger spherical chambers. One of them is a huge one, about 6-7 metres in diameter, while the niche at the end of the cave is slightly smaller but also spectacular. Excavations here in the early 20th century revealed prehistoric and Roman pottery remains, as well as significant bone fragments from various bat species. The passage, which is protected by a special protection scheme and has side passages of only 70 metres in length, is open to the public
