Bátorové Kosihy (Bátorkeszi)

Named after the Báthory family, the settlement has a patinated past. “Close to everything and far from everything”, the locals say, and this saying has inspired them to ensure that the development of the settlement, which once had the right to hold a national fair, has remained unbroken over time. The main square, the promenade and the cultural centre have all been renovated, and the town has become a focal point for the region. The mill and the distillery, which are still in operation, bear witness to its industrial past, and there are Catholic and Reformed churches. Its vineyards were already distinguished in the 18th century, and today more than 100 cellars are still regularly producing wine from the vineyards of the Szentlászló and Galambos vineyards. Visitors to the village for its natural treasures will not be disappointed. In the Galambos valley, signposted walking trails present the history, folklore, monuments, built heritage and flora and fauna of the area.
