Ľubá (Libád)

The village lies between the Bélai hills, the southernmost promontory of the Garamment hills. On its border, on the Paris stream, a reservoir was created in the second half of the 20th century, which is a popular fishing spot. Although it was certainly settled as early as the conquest, the first written record dates back only to the 13th century. Its Roman Catholic church, dedicated to St John the Baptist, was built in the 18th century in Baroque style. The country house, a beautiful house with a veranda, was built by a social partnership, reconstructing the typical rooms, kitchen and lifestyle of the village life of the past. The courtyard has an outdoor stage and an oven. The folk costume of the village of Libad, which belongs to the large family of Palóc costumes, is beautiful and unique.
