Close to Párkány, in the Danube lowlands, you will find this tidy little village. Archaeological excavations prove that it was already inhabited in the centuries before Christ. Celtic, Bronze Age and Avar monuments have been found. The Slavic-Avar burial site can still be visited today and is an interesting programme for visitors. In the heart of the village stands the Catholic church of St. Stephen, with its unique wooden colonnade and neo-Romanesque main altar. The village has many sacral monuments – statues, stone crosses – made by local donations. The village’s folklore treasury has been compiled in a volume. Their traditions are presented at events. A natural curiosity is the thermal spring.
