Piliscsév

The geographical location of this predominantly Slovak settlement is striking, with mountains on three sides. Romantic ravines, gorges and caves can be found in the nearby forests. The National Blue Hiking Trail passes through the village, with easy access to Klastrompuszta, Dobogókõ, the Ilonka spring and the orme of the Szirtes-tetõ. Even a half-day round trip can be a memorable experience: a spectacular route with spectacular views, exploring the most beautiful rock formations of the Pilis, visiting the Csévi Cave and the famous Legény and Leány Caves. On the outskirts of the village there is a multitude of press houses and cellars lined up next to each other, forming a small village – an architectural ensemble unique in Hungary. Folk traditions are still alive: Slovak songs and dances are sung in honour of the ancestors, Slovak inscriptions and speech are not uncommon in the streets, while artefacts can be seen in the Village Museum. For those who take the time to take photos, there are beautiful peasant gates and 18th century architecture: the church, a monument of folk Baroque style, and the artistic crosses.
