Ferry in Neszmély-Radvaň nad Dunajom Title of the project: Building cross border ferry connection and necessary infrastructure between Neszmély and Radvaň nad Dunajom Project Ferry in Nesmély – Radvaň nad Dunajom have been successfully granted in the framework of the Interreg V-A Slovakia-Hungary Cooperation Programme (www.skhu.eu). The direct objective of the project is to increase the number of crossing options between HU and SK by constructing a ferry crossing option between Neszmély and Radvaň nad Dunajom. Project contains: building necessary road connection to the ferry on the HU and on the SK side, – building 6 parking places on the SK side and 28 on the HU side, – building 1-1 ferry buildings and 1-1 ferry ramps on both sides. Procurement of the ferry and putting into service will be implemented within the project. 3 PPs will participate in the project. LB – NIF Zrt., B2 – Magyar Közút NZrt., B3 – Ister-Granum EGTC. Construction works of the HU side will be implemented by the LB. Buying of ferry and operation of it will be implemented by B2 partner. Investments of the SK side will be managed by B3 partner. The strategic objective is to promote the economic and social integration of settlements and border regions currently separated from each other along the border between SK and HU, to leverage the cooperation potential, and especially to help the lagging regions along the border catch up. The implementation of the project will generate the following result indicators: – improved conditions of access, – increased density of border crossing points along the border between Hungary and Slovakia, – decreased cost for vehicles using the road. The development of the border crossing point can primarily help in strengthening family and friendly ties, as well as cultural relationships. At the same time, increased density of border crossing points along the Danube can also result in increased employment opportunities in Hungary for Hungarians in Slovakia by improving integration on the labor market and increasing employment mobility.
