Rotunda from the Árpád-era

Malé Kosihy (Ipolykiskeszi)

The Árpád-era rotunda is a very special sacral monument, with a circular nave and a sanctuary attached to it. Today it is an integral part of the Roman Catholic Church of St Michael the Archangel. The rotunda itself dates back to the 12th century, and the semicircular indentations of the original windows can still be seen today. Excavations in the interior of the church have revealed unique medieval and Árpád wall paintings.
