The Roman Catholic Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Bruty stands in the centre of the village, in a well-kept churchyard. The churches of the village have seen many vicissitudes, sometimes whirlwinds, sometimes fire, sometimes victims of the world war. But the faith of the people of Bruty has proved stronger than any calamity, for they have always rebuilt their church, most recently in 1957-70. So today, this modern church with its old traditions welcomes visitors.
