In 1193, the king confirmed the possession of the crusaders of Balaton. Their Árpád-era church was dedicated to St. Joseph, and the Reformed Church was later built on its foundations. In 1732 it was transferred to the Catholics and consecrated in honour of St Michael the Archangel. Next to the church is the cemetery. For a long time, the village was owned by public landowners, so in the garden of the Catholic church you can see the gravestones of several prominent families of Esztergom County.
