Dubník (Csúz)

Dubník (Csúz)

North of the Danube, in a hilly area at the foot of the steep-sided Öreg hill, lies the village known for its excellent agricultural land. It has been inhabited for a long time, as evidenced by finds from the Stone, Bronze and Iron Ages. Archaeologists have found a gold ring from the latter period. For centuries, the Csúzy family owned the area and built a castle with a beautiful park and exotic trees. The castle can still be visited today and is home to interesting exhibitions, but almost nothing remains of its unique park. There are ceramic sculptures of famous people from the region, models of the castle and church and a memorial room to the Highland politician János Eszterházy. The village also boasts two churches, built in the mid-18th century. Halastava offers recreation not only for fishing lovers in a beautiful natural environment.
