This settlement, surrounded by rolling hills and with its natural beauty, is located in the historical Esztergom County, and from its highest point you can enjoy a stunning view of the Esztergom Castle Hill. Its 5-hectare fishing pond is home to many species of fish, and its modern wooden houses built on the lake are ideal for fishing enthusiasts. The ‘Kéméndi Sikes’, also known as ‘Kéméndi Salty’, in the valley of the Paris stream between Kéménd and Kõhídgyarmat, are part of the Natura 2000 ecological network, and are grazed mostly by grey cattle, whose high-quality organic meat is a rarity in Europe. Using the ruins of the ancient St. Michael’s Church, the locals built a new church in the 18th century in the Baroque style, dedicated to St. Móric – a rarity in Hungary. Kõhídgyarmat is one of the six villages famous for its “kurtaszkirtes folk costume”. Nowhere else in the world is such a costume worn.
