Kóspallag

Peace, tranquillity, silence and old traditions are the hallmarks of the village; for nature lovers, Kóspallag is the ideal place to visit, as the many hiking trails and sights of Börzsöny are easily accessible from here. The area, surrounded by mountains on all sides, is surrounded by the Danube-Ipoly National Park, with many protected species of flora and fauna. The centre of Kóspallag is a great place to organise hikes in the nearby forests and mountains, with the National Blue Trail running through the village. There are also many sights to see: the stone cross from the Napoleonic Wars, the remains of the Bíber Castle – a former watchtower, the ruins of the medieval Pauline monastery, but leaving the village, you can enjoy the majestic views of the area from Kopasz Hill and try the forest railway on the nearby Nagybörzsöny. Wherever you go, the many hiking spots are guaranteed to be a hiking experience.
