The village is situated in a hilly landscape, next to excellent farmland, and its history dates back to the Avar period. A church stood here as early as the 13th century and several landowners had manors and castles here. Today, the pond offers an exceptional experience in a peaceful setting and a fine modern winery. There are well-kept stone crosses in the village and the New Romanesque church of St. Imrich, dedicated to Prince Imrich, is worth a visit. If you want to enjoy excellent wines in a patinated but modern setting, don’t miss a visit to Chateau Rúbaň. The village also has a lively tradition of voluntary firefighting, which organises a number of firefighting competitions.
