The village is situated on the hills of the Danube basin, whose southern slopes provide very favourable conditions for growing vines. The vineyard invites you for a pleasant walk, where the famous wine is produced in 180 cellars on 5 rows of vineyards. The history of the village goes back a long way, its name is derived from the name of the Hungarian tribe Kürtgyarmat. It is mentioned in written documents as early as 1075. The Palatines settled here and founded a monastery. On the outskirts of the settlement there is the Calvary and the Cigléd Chapel, which have become a place of pilgrimage over the centuries. Famous festivals such as the Strekov Wine Festival and the Strekov Calque Festival are also held in the settlement.
